Hands-on Course for Pulmonologists Bronchoscopists and Thoracic Surgeons
Program Overview
The goal of this two day course is to educate experienced chest physicians in the principles and practice of interventional Bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy. The course is aimed at Pulmonologists who are already doing flexible Bronchoscopy regularly and would like to widen their horizon by getting introduced to and practicing interventional Bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy procedures. The two day course includes day one (4th October) of didactic teaching covering most important diagnostic and therapeutic techniques as well as management of a variety of tracheo-bronchial diseases. The second day (5th October) will be a workshop with hands on training on animal lungs at a Live Tissue lab to practice various techniques such as TBNA ,EBUS-TBNA, electrocautery,thoracoscopy, foreign body removal, Rigid Bronchoscopy, silicon stent insertion, etc. Participants will learn from International and National experts with hands-on training in small batches.

The Respiratory Department provides tertiary level care with over 500 bronchoscopies done annually including interventional procedures such as conventional and EBUS-TBNA, balloon bronchoplasty, electrocautery and stent insertions.
Target Audience
Pulmonologists , thoracic surgeons and critical care specialists already familiar with basic bronchology who wish to acquire an indepth knowledge and experience of contemporary interventional pulmonology techniques , taught by experts
Registration
The program has been designed to be strictly educational to foster and advance interventional Pulmonology techniques among broncoscopists who are keen to advance their skills. Due to the format of the workshop and to facilitate one to one training, the total number of participants will be restricted to 48 participants on a first come first serve basis.
Participants will be selected on their interest in learning interventional Bronchoscopy techniques and on the basis of their current experience in flexible Bronchoscopy.

Transport from Max Super Speciality hospital to the Live Vet lab will be provided on 5th October 2014.
